Barney Sullivan, 89, passed away on Thursday April 22, 2010 at Magee General. Visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00 ˆ 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel. Services will be Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, with Rev. Gary Roberts officiating. Interment will be in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Sullivan was born on December 20, 1920 to Alec and Ola Wells Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan proudly served his country in the Army in World War II. He retired after 42 years of service with Simpson County and the City of Magee. Mr. Sullivan was a mason and also was a member of Coats Baptist Church.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by the mother of his children, Betty J. Craft, son, Stanley Sullivan, daughters, Joyce Barrett and Tammy (Jimmy) Puckett all of Magee, grandchildren; Jamie Puckett, Jay (Lauren) Sullivan, Mandy (Ernie) Mealer, Stacy (Phil) Vanderford, and Adam (Tara) Sullivan, great grandchildren; Peyton Puckett, Paige Vanderford, Avery Vanderford, Cooper Sullivan, and Camden Puckett, Sister, Coreen Palmer and brother Wadean Sullivan, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sullivan is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. [2]
