Biography

Grace was a daughter of Henry Sultzbach and his wife, who was born Mary Ann Griel. Grace was born in Pennsylvania in June 1878.

The 1900 U.S. Census recorded her in Marietta, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in the household of her parents, Henry Sultzbach, age 69, and Mary Sultzbach, age 60. They had been married 34 years, and they shared their home with their unmarried daughters Angelina, 24; Grace, 22 (born June 1878); and Lucretia, 19. All were born in Pennsylvania to parents who were born in the state. Henry worked as a day laborer. Mary had born 7 children, of whom 6 were living.^[1]
