Biography

John Summers may be the John Summers born on 02 APR 1650. in Jamestown, King and Queen, Virginia, United States to Jno and Eliza Summers. [1] He was the husband of Elizabeth Thompson Summers, married on 1/10/1675 Christchurch, Middlesex, Virginia [citation needed] Elizabeth Thompson Summers, daughter of William Thompson and Ellen Montague (the daughter of Peter Montague), "died 29 May 1722. She married John Summers of Middlesex County who left (a) will 9 Jan 1702/3-1 March 1702/3. [2][3]

Adventurers of Purse and says Eliz. Thompson Summers died 29 May 1722[4] Some unsourced family trees show her death as 1693, accompanied by this statement: "Before 1 Oct 1694 in Middlesex Co, VA. John Summers married his second wife Ann." Order Book 2, p. 717, Middlesex County, VA, Administration of Estate of Thomas Mims, makes grant to John Summers and his wife, Ann Summers, “relict of deceased” 12 Nov 1694.

According to find a grave (no photo) John died on5 Mar 1702 (aged 55–56) in Middlesex County, Virginia, USA and was buried in Christ Church Cemetery.


Notes Previously this profile was connected to Henry Summers as a son, but there is no evidence for that connection. It also listed him as born in 1660 in Dartford, Kent, England

Profile previously stated John was born in 1646 in Hadlow, Tonbridge and Malling Borough, Kent, England with no source

Profile also stated that he died 05 MAR 1705, but that is not correct based on his probate date of 1702
