Bristol Royal Infirmary Records show that Charles SOMERS of High Littleton, aged 16, was admitted as an In patient on 24 Oct 1771. [2]

Marriage: 12 JUN 1775. High Littleton, Somerset, England.

Wife Betty Carter.

Charles Summers (he signed Sommers) resident in this parish and Betty Carter of this parish (she made mark) by banns. Witnesses: John Holley and John Chivers. [3]

Settlement Examination - Poor Law: 1 OCT 1781. High Littleton, Somerset, England.
The Examination of Charles SOMERS [SUMMERS], now residing in the Parish of High Littleton in the sd. County, Labourer, taken this 1st Oct'r 1781. Who, upon his Oath saith, That he was born in the Parish of Midsomer Norton in the said County, as he has been informed & believes, lived there till he was ab't 13 Y'rs of Age, when he went into the sd. Parish of High Littleton, where he has resided ever since at his own Hands. That his Father's Settlem't was in the sd. Parish of Midsomer Norton, as he hath been informed & believes & that he hath done no Act to gain a Settlem't since his Birth, either by renting, Service or otherwise, to his Knowledge or Belief.
