Biography

George James Summers was born on 22 December 1833 ^[1] in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, ^[2] the son of Jonas Summers and Elizabeth Sanderson. ^[1] He was baptised at Mount Pleasant Methodist church on 2 February 1834 in Liverpool.^[1]

When George was 28 he married Emma Crabtree on 17 July 1862 in Manchester, Lancashire. The couple had at least 11 children.^[3]

In the 1871 census George was living in Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire.^[2]

In the 1881 census George was living in Moss Side, Lancashire.^[4]

In the 1891 census George was living in Gorton, Lancashire.^[5]

In the 1901 census George was living in Reddish, Lancashire.^[6]
