Richard married Margaret Danser on 30th Aug 1656 in St. Peter's Church, in Rylstone, a small village also in the Parish of Burnsall in the Yorkshire Dales ^[4] they had three children Robert^[5] , Ann^[6] and John ^[7] Summerscale

The birth dates of their three children when compared with their marriage date of 1656 or 1665 with Richard born in 1666 may suggest that a marriage date of 1665 was the better option

Richard died in 1699 age 68 in Rylstone, Burnsall, Yorkshire, England according to an unsourced entry in the Research Notes below

• The marriage of Richard Sumerscale & Margaret Dancer was conducted on 30 August 1665 Rylstone, St. Peter, Yorkshire. according to Rylstone PR (Private Transcript) but this conflicts with the date 1656 found in the FreeReg source above,
• Death registration 8 March 1699 Rylstone, St. Peter, Yorkshire. Buried same day as wife in Rylstone according to an unsourced PR Private Transcript entry but needs verifying
