Biography

Edward was born in 1900. He married Etta Steeper. His father offered to help buy a farm about one quarter mile from the family home, commonly known as the "Armstrong" farm owned by J. Armstrong in 1882. At 71, Edward was attempting to repair the barn roof. He rode the ladder to the ground, striking his head. Two weeks later, he was home from the hospital; someone else repaired the roof. Edward played the pipes for the Western Ontario Regiment and for Scottish dance competitions for which he was paid $7.00. Edward and Etta had two children. Ronald Edward (1932) and Shirley Madeline (1934).
