DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
Hi. I believe Appleton made an error on the parents of Elizabeth Griffin, b. 2 Feb 1699/1700. Roxbury Vital Records, births, shows her parents to be Joseph and Sarah Griffin of Roxbury. The transcription image I'm looking at doesn't have any other female Griffin's with the same b. date. Also, secondary source William R. Cutter (1847-1918) on writing the biography for Samuel Sumner states that Elizabeth Griffin was the dau. of Joseph of Roxbury. See Cutter source, pg. 886 at:
I've seen your note and will respond when I have time to check my sources....
Thanks for pointing this out. They aren't directly related to my line, and I probably adopted the profile to fill in some parents or other people related to the Stetson or Farr family.
