It appears Daniel resided with his parents and siblings, in the Liverpool area until his army enlistment in 1915.
Daniel enlisted in the British Army on June 4, 1915, and served with the Royal Field Artillery During World War I. His Regimental Numbers were 1028, and 695266. His Rank was "Driver". According to the Medal Rolls, he saw action in Egypt, then France, where he was killed in Action on June 30, 1918. Daniel was the recipient of the British War Medal, Victory Medal, and the 1915 Star. Daniel was the second son of Robert and Elizabeth to lose his life during WWI. His brother, Robert, had been killed in action in 1915. Daniel was buried at Bertrancourt Military Cemetery,Bertrancourt, Departement de la Somme, Picardie, France. Plot 2, Row D, Grave 25.
