Services for Nancy Joan Stauffer, 66, Ottawa, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Mrs. Stauffer died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1931, in Lawrence, the daughter of Julius Boyd and Myrtle Iva Williams Sumner. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1949. A homemaker, Mrs. Stauffer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lawrence. She was involved with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts group in Ottawa.
She married George William Stauffer Jr. on Dec. 23, 1948, in Lyndon. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Gilroy, Ottawa; two sons, Bill Stauffer, Parsons, and Andy Stauffer, Ottawa; three sisters, Ruth Elliot, Topeka, Dora Price, Richmond, Ky., and Lois Hale, San Diego; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
