He represented Westmorland County in the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly from 1895 to 1899 under Premier Andrew Blair.[3]
He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Canadian House of Commons in 1908.[3]
At the time of his death in 1919, he was Agent-General of New Brunswick in London and had been since at least 1917.[5][6]
