James was born on December 12, 1927 in Kentucky.[1]
James married Olive Cox on November 10, 1848 in Whitley County, Kentucky.[2] They had at least one child, : Child: Gertie Rebecca Sumner.
He passed away on July 14, 1887 and is buried in Concord Cemetery in Williamsburg, Whitley County, Kentucky.[3]
