Biography
Claus was born on December 8, 1873+[1] in Norway[2] and was a son of John Sunde.[3] His mother's name is unknown.[3]
In 1890[2], he emigrated from Norway to the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen[2] in 1900.[2]
He married Olave Hagen[4] of Anacortes[4] courtesy of a license obtained December 17, 1902.[4] They were married on December 22, 1902.[5]
His wife's niece, Olga Swanson, came to live with them sometime after the death of her mother, and most likely after her father remarried.[6][2]
He passed away on May 19, 1926[3] at the age of 53 years, 5 months, 11 days.[3] at Virginia Mason Hospital[3] in Seattle, Washington.[3]
He is buried next to his wife at the Bothell Pioneer Cemetery in Bothell, Washington.[6]

+The date of his birth appears differently in different records:
His death certificate[3] shows the Informant (his son Clarence) said he was born in Ohio. The most accurate would likely be one that he provided, i.e. his draft registration card, which says 08 Dec 1873; so that is used here.
