Isabell M. Peete

Mooers Forks - Isabell M. Peete, 96, of Route 11, Mooers Forks, died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Mooers Forks, April 18, 1915, the daughter of David and Mintie (Hebert) Superneault.

Isabell grew up in Mooers Forks and attended school in Ellenburg. She worked for many years at the Slipper Factory in Mooers and was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker.

She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann's, and the Twin Bridges VFW Post 1418 Ladies Auxiliary in Champlain. She enjoyed making quilts, knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, and dancing.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Peete and companion, Helen Hicks of Champlain, Gerald and Barbara Peete of Champlain, and Norma and Gerald Menard of Plattsburgh; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Clarence and Gertrude Supernault of Port Henry, Noella Watts of Ellenburg, and Charles and Gloria Supernault of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Russell J. Peete, September 10, 1994, whom she married December 25, 1935, at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks; grandson, Richard Allen; four brothers, Gilbert, Aldemore, Lawrence, and Alfred; and one sister, Evelyn Svrchuk.

Calling hours will be held Monday, February 27, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. Members of the Twin Bridges VFW Post 1418 Ladies Auxiliary will meet at the Hamilton Funeral Home for a 5 p.m. service. Members of the Ladies of St. Ann's will meet at the Hamilton Funeral Home for a 6:30 p.m. service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, parish pastor, celebrating, and Rev. Gilbert B. Menard, retired, concelebrating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Ann's Cemetery.[1]
