Madeleine Surette is a descendant of an Acadian

Magdelene Judithe Surette was the daughter of Raphael Surette and Anne Elizabeth Babin.^[1]
She was born February 27, 1833^[1] in Eel Brook, Nova Scotia^[2], and was baptised May 1, 1833 in Eel Brook.^[1]
She married Joseph Gedeon Richard, the son of Charles Richard and Marie Robichaud, on November 18, 1872 in Eel Brook, Nova Scotia.^[2]
The couple settled into the home of her husband located along the Richard Road in Tusket Wedge, Nova Scotia^[3][4] where they had 2 children both of whom died in child birth or soon thereafter^[5]:

1. Jean born in 1878^[5]
2. Joseph born in 1880^[5]

Magdelene died at the age of 46 in 1880, and her funeral was held July 4, 1880 at St. Michael's^[5] in Tusket wedge. ^[4].
