Biography

Matilde Surprenant was born on June 2, 1836 in Saint-Edouard, Lower Canada, daughter of Joseph Surprenant (1792–1847) and Marie Flavie Monet (1810–1853).[1]

Research notes

No further record of Matilde has been found in Quebec or New York. She was not listed in the 1850 census with the rest of her family when she would have been 14 years old leading to the possibility that she may have died in New York prior to that time.
