DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Victoria or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Victoria:

Hi Victoria,

I just wanted to let you know that I am reverting the changes you made to Odessa Jane (Baucom) Williams. The WikiTree guidelines for location name suggestions do not call for standardization and specifically state that suggestions are not required to be accepted.

Because so many places have similar names for city, township, and county names, I include all data when possible. I use the abbreviation USA rather than United States because there are "United States" all over the world. While abbreviations for locations below the country level are not used, country abbreviations are allowed and USA is one of the few acceptable ones. That may cause problems for future researchers but is a compromise at this point.

Please let me know if you have any questions,

Debi

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Hi Victoria

Thanks for your query about the Moppett surname. I was equally poor on gathering sources, though it appears that I got it from an Ancestry record - don't now have access to this. I have found some references on Roots Web to a marriage of Joseph Surr to Mary Ann Gooch - but no actual source for that. Noticed too that her parents were born more than 100 years earlier. Will keep searching.

Noticed that you have improved the post for Watson Surr. Thank you. Watson is my 1st cousin 3 times removed.

Hello Victoria!

Welcome to the New Netherland Settlers Project. Please visit our FAQ and feel free to ask any questions you may have. If you're looking for your ancestors that might already be on Wikitree, check out our Immigrants and Progenitors page, though it is not quite complete and does not reflect all of the profiles that already exist.

Cheers! Carrie

Hi Victoria, I visited the First Presbyterian Churchyard for the first time on 22 June and took some pics of Smith's and added them. I'll have to go back at some point and take more pics since there are a lot of Ogden's there too. I think there's also more ancestors across the street at St. John's Episcopal Church but when I went over there, the gates were locked. It's not the most pleasant neighborhood unfortunately. Wishing you well!

Hello!

I noticed you are working on some of our earlier profiles. I just wanted to let you know that today we're starting to introduce restrictions on who can add and edit profiles of people born before 1500. To edit early profiles, you will need the "Pre-1500 Certified" badge.

To request it, you can go to http://www.wikitree.com/contact/cert/.

If you have questions or comments please post here: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/211127/would-you-like-to-help-edit-profiles-people-born-before-1500

Thanks!

Edward Wilmot of Witney was an ancestor of the famous Earl of Rochester, so link to your Edward Wilmot will be interesting to ascertain, if possible.

I noticed your new Club 1000 Club badge for March 2015.

Congratulations ?

Guy

I am working my way through the book:

The Ogden Family in America Elizabeth Branch and their English Ancestry John Ogden, the Pilgrim and his decendants 1640-1906 Their History, Biography & Genealogy

compiled by William Ogden Wheeler

source: https://archive.org/stream/ogdenfamilyiname00whee#page/n7/mode/2up

There is a lot of information in this book, and I am doing my best to transcribe most of it. Please feel free to make additions and changes to the profiles I have added, they are meant to be a jumping-in place for more closely related family members.
