If you are adding any DNA test info to profiles on WikiTree, please be sure to add the tests to the actual test participant's profile, and that the Privacy is set to show the participant's Family Tree tab.
PS - See the DNA Project for more information about that.
I've found the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them. That way, you can ask questions in G2G from the profile you're stuck on & folks will know what you have already.
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email youll receive has helpful links to help get you started.
WikiTree is somewhat different from other genealogy websites you may have seen in that our goal is to have one profile per person, meaning we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer. Tell us why the tags you chose to add are important to you, and click the volunteer button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Check out our Help Pages and feel free to ask a question on our G2G Forum if you get stuck.
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.
Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. Its a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2Gs Question of the Week: Do you ever go back over a family to double check and look for new sources?
If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
