Daniel Surratt was born about 1830 in Grayson County, Virginia. [1]
Daniel married Rhoda Davis at an unknown date.
Information from US Federal Census records
In 1870 Daniel, Rhoda, and children are living in Old Town, (nowadays Galax) Grayson County, Virginia. We learn from this record that everyone in the family was born in Virginia, and that Daniel was a farmer. The transcription provided by Ancestry suggests the "inferred children" are Tearry, Sylvester, and Garland, but not Henderson.
Note: Based on what I know of the family, Teeny is a popular name, and I suspect "Tearry" might actually be "Teeny". Hopefully more research will tell.
