Regarding the marriage of Samuel Kirk and Sarah Suter Kirk, according to her son's biography, "eight of their thirteen children grew to mature years." Of those, by 1898, only one son and four daughters were living. Those were Eliza Kirk Smith, Frank V Kirk, Margaret Kirk McCubbin White, Ann Rogers Kirk, and Sarah Elizabeth Kirk Marsh.
