Biography
John (Sutherland) Sutherland IVth of Forse is a member of Clan Sutherland.
John Sutherland, 4th Laird of Forse was born in 1471.
In 1505, King James IV granted him a charter of the farm of Backies which is located approximately 2 miles outside the village of Golspie.
John died before 21st November 1539, having seen his son and heir predecease him. He was succeeded by his eldest grandson Richard (also known as Robert) Sutherland, 5th Laird of Forse.
