Research notes

Who is Isabella (born abt 1818 Bower) who is shown as sister of Alexander Sutherland, (Esther's son) on the 1881 census?

She is not listed as a child on Esther's 1855 dth cert. Henderson-2297 02:41, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Mystery of Isabella solved. There are (at least ) TWO John Sutherland and Esther Sutherland couples, both with sons Alexander.

This Esther dying 1855 is the mother of the Alexander dying in 1880, Isabella is the sister of the other Alexander (died 1882 Todholes, Thurso) belong to the other John / Esther couple. Henderson-2297 05:12, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Sutherland-3256 and Sutherland-881 appear to represent the same person because: see also merge notes for parents, which latter have to be completed first
