Biography

Donald (Sutherland) Sutherland Tacksman in Blackness is a member of Clan Sutherland.

Donald was born in 1715. He was said to be one of four sons of Donald Sutherland Tacksman of Blackness. His brothers are believed to have been named John, Alexander and William.

As Donald was from Mid Clyth and his wife Margaret was from Golsary, both in the Parish of Latheron, it is likely the marriage date is incorrect since it refers to a marriage which took place in Dornoch in Sutherland.
