Biography

Birth and Parents

Donald Suttie was born in Illinois.

Donald, the son of David and Bertha (Wieneke) Suttie was born on 11 June 1922 at Glen Ellyn, Illinois. His father was born in Ireland and his mother in Chicago, IL.

In 1940, Donald was 17 years of age and a part-time grocery clerk residing with his parents David (61 years) and Bertha (54 years) at Glen Ellyn, DuPage, Illinois.^[1]

WWII Military Service

Donald served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a PFC. with the 3rd Pioneer Battalion, 3rd Marine Division during WWII. He enlisted on 10 July 1942 and was honorably discharged on 23 October 1945.^[2]

Marriage

Donald married Marjorie Deloras Graham, the daughter of Ernest Otis and Julia (Alvina) Graham on 21 May 1949 at Lapeer, Michigan.^[3] There were no children from this union.

Death and Burial

Donald Erwin Suttie died on 1 October 1949 in his 27th year at Chicago.^[4] He is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery at Glen Ellyn, DuPage, Illinois.^[5]
