Arthur Gordon Kingsley Caldwell was born on 22 August 1918 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia, the son of Archd St John Adam Caldwell and Mabel Caldwell nee Lupton.[1] His mother Mabel divorced Archibald in 1928 on the grounds of desertion. The divorce was finalised in 1929. In the divorce papers she stated she and Archibold had seven children, including Arthur born 1918. Archibold deserted her in 1921. The marriage was dissolved in 1929.[2]. Mabel married Arthur David Suttie in 1929.[3] Arthur adopted his step-father's surname.[4] Notwithstanding the official records, Arthur and his brother Desmond were apparently the biological children of Arthur Suttie. As adults they used the surname Suttie.
Arthur was in a military record in 1939-1948 in Melbourne. He was in the Royal Australian Navy. His service number was 20912.[4]
Arthur Gordon Kingsley Suttie's marriage to Jean Constance Jones was registered in 1943 in Victoria, Australia.[5]
Arthur died on 25 January 1986 in Chelsea, Victoria, aged 67 years.[7] Arthur Suttie's estate passed probate on 8 April 1986.[8]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Arthur by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Arthur:
based on birth registration and also his parents' divorce papers, Arthur's last name at birth should be Caldwell and his official father should be Archibold Caldwell. However, it appears his biological father was Arthur Suttie so that is what is linked.
