He was a Barrister in Manchester and a member of the Manchester Bar Association. In 1907 he purchased Saint Olaves and Murchison Farm (59 acres) in Chagford Devon and retired to the house around 1918.
He died at Wonford House Exeter which was a mental asylum but there are no records of when he was admitted or hiss illness.
He left all his property and £36,731 to Susanna his wife. The other thing Edmund’s Will highlights is that he passed on the Advowson of Throwleigh Church to his wife Susanna. He himself had acquired the Advowson from the Lord Chancellor (“Outposts of Faith” by Michael Yelton).
