William was born in the Indian territory close to what is now Grove Oklahoma. He met and married Harriet Rozilla Raymond on Jan 18, 1876. They had nine children. He was by blood part of the Cherokee nation. Dawes card #2843/7137. Miller roll app #4920 roll #26091
The Suttons owned a small farm, 1 mile north of Grove before statehood William Henry Sutton invested in the bank of Grove. William Sutton was also a stockholder in the first national Bank of Grove. Taken from a book called “ Heritage of the Hills; a Delaware County history.”
