Biography

George was born aboard the ship 'Porpoise'.The 'Porpoise' was in Spithead harbour awaiting being loaded with provisions for the voyage to Port Jackson. His father, was a protege of Sir Joseph Banks, so in honour of him, George Jnr was given the middle name of 'Banks'. Father's Name is George Suttor I Mother's Name is Sarah. Jane Johnston a spinster and daughter of Andrew Johnston of Port Head was married to George Banks Suttor I a bachelor of Baulkham Hills by Rev. J. Cross at Windsor on 1 Feb 1826, a licence having been obtained 30 Jan 1826.
