Thyra is supposed to be daughter of King Sweyn "Forkbeard" and his first wife, Gunhilda.
Alison Weir in her book Britain's Royal Families suggests that Thyra, daughter of Svend Forkbeard and Gunhilda (possibly his oldest child), King of Denmark, was the first wife of Godwin Earl of Wessex; that they had children whose names are not known; and that Thyra died in 1018.[1] No source is given and there appears to be no good evidence. Thyra does not appear in any pedigrees in reliable sources.
Thyra is not listed as a child of Svend Forkbeard in Medlands.[2]
Thyra has previously been attached as a wife of Godwin, but is now detached.
Godwin married Gytha, whose brother Ulf married a sister of Knut, king of Denmark, England and Norway. See Godwin's and Gytha's profiles for sourcing. Knut and his sister were children of Svend Forkbeard.
