26 October 1849 widow Brigitta Andersdotter from Ammetorp married widower and crofter Isak Svensson from Gissebäck. When first banns were to be read, the groom presented the certificate (avvittringsbevis) showing that the inheritance after his first wife had been regulated. For the bride, the father of her late husband testified that at the time of his hospitalization, his son had been destitute. Isak was 61 years old to Brigitta's 37.[1]
Isak and Brigitta lived in Gissebäck. According to the household record he was born 16 September 1788 in Ekesjö (presumably Eksjö parish). To begin with there were two daughters from his first marriage in the household.[2]
Isak and Brigitta had a son and a daughter before Isaac died in 1856. He is noted in the household record as destitute (utfattig)[3] Isac Svensson in Gissebäck died 28 November 1856 and was buried 7 December.[4]
