Rachel (Swaim) Enyart was a North Carolina colonist.

Rachel was born in 1752. She passed away in 1809.

Rachel Bess Swaim, a daughter of Johannes Swaim and Charity Teague was born about 1749 in North Carolina.[1] The Swaim surname was pronounced "swim," and is spelled that way in some records.[2]

On 15 Feb 1769, she married Abraham Enyart (also spelled "Inniard") in Rowan County, North Carolina,[3] and they made their home there. They had the following children:[4][1]

  3. Elizabeth (1773-1840)
  4. Sarah, (1774-1836)
  5. David A. (1776-1851)
  6. Catherine (1778-1840)
  7. Silas (1780-1849)
  8. Rachael (1782-1809)
  9. Abraham (1783-1859)
  10. Isabelle (1787-1865)
  11. Anne (1788-1828)

By 1800, the Enyerts had moved to Kentucky. Abraham is listed on the 1800 Kentucky Early Census for Madison County.[5]

Rachel passed away on 6 Feb 1809 in Madison County, Kentucky. The location of her grave is unknown.[6][1][4]

  4. Rachel Bess Swaim was born in 1749. She died on 06 Feb 1809 in KY. She married Abraham Inniard on 15 Feb 1769 in Rowan Cty, NC. He was born in 1748 in Somerset, NJ. He died on 13 Apr 1809 in Richmond, Ky.

  7. Moses Swaim was born about 1759 in Winston Salem, N.C.. He died about 1836 in Alabama. He married Catherine Hein on 11 Jun 1779 in Stokes Cty, N.C.. She was born in 1757 in NC. She died in Alabama ?.

      • Named for Moses Teague, his uncle, Charity's brother.
      • Sold land in Surry, NC in 1826 and migrated then, possibly first to Tenn before Alabama.
  8. Elizabeth Swaim was born in 1760. She married Abraham Transeau.
