Born Mary was born in 1913 ^[1]. Mary was the daughter of Ernest Swain and Margaret Ellen Heald.

In 1921 ^[2] Mary (8) was living with her parents Ernest (31) "Railway Engin Driver / Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Company" and Annie (33) at 621 Oldham Road, Newton Heath, Lancashire together with siblings William James (5) and Margaret (3).

Marriage Mary married Matthew Broadman in 1933 ^[3].

In 1939 ^[4] Mary "Paper Bag Maker" and Matthew "Grease-proof paper packer" were living at 52 Merton Street Manchester together with Matthew's mother Alice Broadman b1873.

Died Mary Broadman of 101 Manor Road, Droylsden died age 74 in 1987 ^[5] and was buried on 3 November 1987 in Dukinfield Cemetery & Crematorium Tameside ^[6].
