Biography

Albert was born in 1881 ^[1], the third child of Joseph Swain and Mary Platts. He was baptised on 4 October 1881 together with his brother Samuel in the parish of Clay Cross Derbyshire ^[2].

In 1891 ^[3] Albert (9) was living together with his father Joseph (36) "coal miner", and mother Mary Ann (35), with siblings Lillian (14), Samuel (11), Eliza (5) and John (2) at 182 High Street Clay Lane.
In 1901 ^[4] Albert (19) "Coal miner - Roadman" was living with his father, Joseph (46) "Colliery Deputy Under Ground" and mother "Annie M" (45) together with siblings Samuel (21) "Coal miner - Roadman", Eliza (15), John (12), Clara (9) and Harold (6) in John Street Egstow Derbyshire.

Marriage In 1908 Albert married Ellen Crofts ^[5]. In 1911 ^[6] Albert (30) "Colliery Corporal below" and Ellen were living at Packmans Cottages Woodthorpe and Tupton Derbyshire

Died Albert died age 34 in 1916 ^[7]. Details unknown.
