Biography

Edwin's christening at Weston gives his parents as Richard and Ellen Swain. In the 1851 census at Weston, Edwin (24) an agricultural labourer is married to Elizabeth (24). Also in the household were Charles Munt (22) a bricklayer and Edwin's brother-in law as well as Emma Munt (8) and Sarah Ann Munt (4), Edwin and Elizabeth's nieces.

The 1861 census has Edwin (36, Shepherd), Elizabeth (34), Caroline (8), Frederick (5), John Munt (4) and Edwin (1) .

Edwin Swaine (Widower, 65) is found in the 1891 census at Fore Street, Weston. Son John (33) and daughter Annie (24) are also listed.

Edwin Swain (66) of Weston was buried May 3rd 1891.
