Biography

Samuel, born Apr 1788 in Barrington, was a son of Capt Chapman Swain Jr. and his wife Susanna Nickerson... and a grandson of John "England" Swain of Nantucket. He married Elizabeth Gray around 4 Jun 1812, when their marriage bond was issued in nova Scotia..

  2. LUCRETIA SWAINE, b. 11 Jul 1816, Port Latour, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia; m. WILLIAM GRAY, Aft. 22 Aug 1838, Sambro, Halifax County, Nova Scotia.
  3. MARY SWAINE, b. Abt. Jul 1818, Port Latour, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.
  4. ELIZABETH SWAINE, b. 17 Dec 1820.
  5. JOHN METER SWAINE, was born 1 Dec 1822 in Port Latour, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, and died Bet. 1891 - 1916 in Canso, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia.
