Biography
Mahala Parzettie Swallows was born about 1814 in Tennessee.[citation needed]
In the 1850 census, Mahala was 36 years old and head of her household in Overton County, Tennessee, with four children: John, Celina, Thomas, and Jamima. Her household also included Ruth Swallows and two-year-old boy Reuben Swallows.[1]
