Warren was a veterinarian (horses and dogs). He also owned steam boats on Oneida Lake.
He was one of 7 children.

Dr. Warren Swan died in New York on Saturday of pneumonia. He was born in New London in 1829, and went to New York 20 years ago and had since lived there. Surviving
are two daughters, Mrs. George Maddock of Brooklyn and Mrs. Frank Tinkham of Jamestown, one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Joseph Benjamin of Minneapolis, Minn., Tryon Swan of Utica and Porter T. Swan of this city. The funeral will be held privately at 1 :30 p.m. Wednesday at the home of the brother here and interment will take place at the Rathbunville Cemetery.
