Biography

Sidney Percival "Percy" Swan was born on 24th November 1892 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He was the oldest son of Charles Swan and Richenda Hall.
Percy Swan is an Anzac who served in World War One.

On 11th February 1916, Percy enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during the First World War. He was a senior non-commissioned officer, Sergeant, with the 21st Howitzer Battery, 2nd Australian Field Artillery Brigade, embarking at Sydney on 29th July 1916 aboard HMAT Orsova A67. He returned to Australia 16th June 1919.[1]

Percy married Claire Trestrail in 1922 at Brisbane.[2]

Percy became manager of the North Queensland branch of the trading company, Burns Philp.

He passed away on 10th May 1961 at Mackay, Queensland. [3]
