Biography

Abstracted from the Centralia Journal, Friday, Sept. 25, 1896, page 1: A.W. swan and Mrs. Alice Sutcliff were married Sunday, September 20, 1896 at Seneca, Kansas. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. J.P. Mooney. Mr. Swan had just recently completed a beautiful residence in north-east Centralia, where they will make their home.

The account of the band boys serenading them was in a following article. It said "the old gentleman was highly pleased and expressed many thanks for the courtesy." He gave them a dollar for the band treasury and invited them to call again, and give him a warning so he would be prepared for them.
