Biography

Peter Swan the 3rd child and 2nd son of James Swan (b1805) and Violet Penman (1806 - 1873), was born in 1833. Peter was the brother of:

• John's name does not appear with the rest of the family on the 1841 Census record so the assumption is that he died before the census on the 6th June.

Peter's younger brother George Swan was born on Tuesday, 27th October 1840 at Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland. George was subsequently baptised on Sunday, 1st November 1840.

Peter's brother, George Swan died about 1841 the cause of death is unknown.

• George's name does not appear with the rest of the family on the 1841 Census record so the assumption is that he died before the census on the 6th June.
