Samuel was born about 1818. He was the son of William Swan.
Samuel married (1) Elizabeth Anne Swan, daughter of Samuel Swan of Grallaghgrenan on 26 April 1840.
Marriage Notice - The Newry Telegraph 30 May 1840
- On the 26th ult. by the Rev Joseph Dickie, Rathfriland, Mr Samuel Swan of Lisnacreevey to Elizabeth Anne, only daughter of Samuel Swan of Grallaghgrenan, Esq.
Elizabeth died on 8 December 1877. [1]
Samuel married (2) Jayne Mayne in 1879. [2]
Was a widower at time of marriage to Jane.
