Biography
Francis was born on the 26 December 1843 at little Lochans, Inch, Wigtown, Scotland. He was the son of James Swan and Sarah McGuffie. He was baptised on the 3 March 1846 at Inch with his his sister Mary Jane. [1]
In 1851 he was living with his family at Stoneykirk, Wigtonshire. [2]
By 1861 Francis is listed as a Apprentice Ship Painter and living with his family at 18 Levenhaugh Street, Dennystown, Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire.
He passed away before 1944.
