In the name of God I Timothy Swan of the State of South Carolina Laurens District being of Sound mind and memory but weak in body and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and being Desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with do make and ordain this my last will in manner following that is to say First. I leave my soul to God who gave it and my body to the buried in a Christian like manner of burial at the discretion of my Executors.
2nd I leave to my Mother two fields which she has attended latterly and the patch around the house which she now live in and timber to keep up the fences but she is not to let any other person live on it, to be hers for life.
3rd I desire all my Just debts to be paid out of the moneys to be collected out of the estates of Mathew Hunter Deceased and Alexander Henry deceased.
4 I give to my wife Sarah Swan all the rest of the land One Negro boy named Jerry with all my other personal property except two cows & calves two beds & furniture two wheels & chards during her natural life or widowhood and no longer.
5th To my two daughters Rebekah and Isabella each of them one Cow and calf one bed and furniture one wheel and Chards the land to be sold at the Death or marriage of my wife Sarah and the money to be given to my two Daughters before mentioned to them and their heirs forever to be equally divided.
6th To my son Alexander I give the negro boy Jerry to be his at my wifes Death or marriage to be his forever together with my saddle and my Sword--- to my wife I give a sorrel mare one bed and furniture one cow and calf one wheel and chards to be hers for ever together with the natural increase of said mare.
All my indisposed personal property to be Sold at the Death or marriage of my wife and the money to be equally divided between my three children before mentioned.
And lastly I do constitute and appoint my friend William F. Downs executor and my wife executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other and former wills and testament by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty first day of July One thousand eight Hundred and sixteen.
