In the 1861 England Census Charlotte Swan 54 born about 1807 in St Margaret, Leicestershire, England, wife, was head of her household in Leicester St Margaret, Leicestershire. Other Household Members, all born St Margaret, were her children John Swan 32 frameworker, Charlotte Swan 20 silk warper, Thomas Swan 22 fireman on railway train, Samuel Swan 15 apprentice, and William Swan 11 scholar.
