Biography

Elisha was born 1837, probably June as he was baptised 11/6/1837 in the parish of Taxal Cheshire, birth place noted as Kettleshulme.

He married Ann Johnson when they were both 19 at Prestbury Parish church on 2/2/1857

He was described as a labourer

Elisha sadly lost his wife in less than a year, 3 months after the birth of his daughter Eliza. Ann died 15/12/1857

Elisha moved to Ardwick Manchester and married again, to Sarah Morten at St Mary's, St Denys & St George church Manchester, on 20/4/1862. They had 4 children together.

Elisha became a railway porter but also died young on 15 September 1870, aged 33. He died of Typhus Fever. Address registered as 38 Wycliffe Street, Ardwick, Manchester. Informant - James Swann of 2 Lloyd Street, Cheetham, City Centre, Manchester. Elisha was buried at Chapel -en-le-Frith
