Biography

Thomas Swann passed away after 1803. ^[1] Thomas's first wife was Elizabeth "Nancy" Taylor (marriage date unknown). ^[2] Their children were Harriet Bryon Swann, Judith Swann, Samuel Swann, Nancy Hughes Swann, John Thompson Swann, Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Swann, and Elizabeth Blakely Stratton Swann. ^[3] After Thomas died, his children John, Nancy, and Mary Elizabeth "Polly" were cared for by guardians Thomas Stratton and Ferguson Taylor, brother of their mother. ^{[4] [5]}ADD MORE CITATIONS HERE. After Nancy died, Thomas married Judith Ligon, widow of his nephew, Thomas Thompson Swann, Jr. on 13 Dec 1789 in Cumberland County, VA. ^{[6] [7]} They had one son, Thomas Thompson Swann born in 1802. ^[8]
