Biography

All this work is attributed to Phillip Swan of Houston and Brian P. Swann Camberley, UK

  • May 2013: There is growing evidence that Edward Swann was the eldest son of Edward and Sussanah Swan. YDNA comparisons between Phillip E. Swan and Billy Frank Swann (a documented descendant of Edward Swann b.~1630) is 110/111 markers. FTDNA says that a perfect match would be between brothers or father and son. Phil Swan

Edward Swan died about 1682 according to a Charles County Rent Roll on a property called Wards Chance (Wards Chance, 60 Acres patented July 10, 1682 - in Pickawaxon, near “land of thelate Edward Swann” (Charles County Rent Rolls 1642-1775 f. 298). The land record attached indicated that Edward was living about (30 years ago) about 1693. Considering that the word “about” is not a definite 30 years, still placing his death at about 1690.
