They had had one daughter born in Wisconsin, United States about May 1898. Thomas was a teleg. line repairer.[2]
About 1904 Thomas went back to Canada with his family. In the 1906 census Ida (age 27) was the wife of Heber Stepheson with three children in Humboldt No. 370, Saskatchewan, Canada.[3] In the 1911 census Ida was the wife of Heber Stephenson with four children in Prince Albert Sub-Districts 1-24, Saskatchewan, Canada.[4] Ida's husband passed away (aged 54–55) in 1916 in Saskatchewan, Canada. In the 1916 census Ida (age 36) was the widowed head of household with five children in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.[5]
She passed away (aged 76–77) in Saskatchewan, Canada.[6] Ida was mentioned on a memorial in Craig Cemetery, Melfort, Melfort Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada with a death date of December 1957.[7][8]

in 1916 Ida identified as Norwegian; perhaps her father? Her father was born in Wisconsin, her mother Germany on 1900 census. Father a Swede 1911 census.
