Catherine (Swanston) Vallance was born in Scotland.
In the Census Return taken on the 31st March 1851 Thomas VALLANCE, aged 24, born at Lesmahagow, and his wife Catherine, aged 21, born at Glasgow, were resident at 38 Broad Street, Calton, Glasgow, with their eldest son, Thomas, aged 2, born at Hamilton.
Her son Thomas was the informant on her Death Certificate. She died from consumption.
