NOTES Luitha Margrietha Johanna (Swart) Degenaar was born in 1842:

• She died in childbirth in December 1879, aged 38, with the birth of the second Leuta named child and already a widow.
• Her husband, David Isak Degenaar- died 2 April 1879.
• Both were buried on the farm Gelegenfontein, in the Biggarsberg on the Collingspass Road, district of Kliprivier, of her father, Nicolaas Gerhardus Swart.
